As a composer, I read children's books and set them to music. The musical styles are derived from the artwork of each book. As an educator, my goal is to inspire young people to read and to develop an appreciation of the fine arts: literacy. I've found many children's books to be both direct and profound in content, and attempt to enhance the written words and illustrations with music.
